The Naturopathic Gathering is a unique, student driven national conference for Naturopathic Students and Doctors to learn more of the philosophy bound with Naturopathic Medicine. Naturopathic Physicians with fifteen or more years in practice (Elder Doctors) are invited to speak and share their wisdom in a group setting on the campus of one of the seven Naturopathic Medical Schools in North America.
Naturopathic Medical Students & Naturopathic Physicians are invited to attend and share in the wisdom of our Elder Physicians. The weekend of the annual Gathering allows those of us immersed in the science of our medicine the opportunity to re-ground ourselves with our humanity. Over the course of the weekend, we learn more of the art of healing and delve into the insight for practice and philosophy from our Elders, separate from the lab results.
The Naturopathic Gathering began as a spark of inspiration & has grown and evolved with each passing year.
The Naturopathic Gathering is the brain child of SCNM alumni Randy Spicer along with Joe Holcomb, Brendan McCarthy, Christina Romero Bosch and John Robinson. Together they founded the SCNM Naturopathic Society, a student-run philosophy club, and eventually took the spirit of the club a step further when they organized a small group of legendary naturopathic doctors to speak to an audience of enthusiastic naturopathic medical students to learn about the roots of their medicine in what would become the first Gathering. The Naturopathic Gathering was conceived in the winter of 2002-2003 by five original members of the SCNM Naturopathic Society. In the wake of that meeting, the first Gathering occurred on May 21-23, 2004 at SCNM in Arizona with a focus on Naturopathic philosophy and the practice of medicine. Since that first Gathering presented by Naturopathic Students with a thirst for a better understanding of the philosophy of our medicine, the Gathering has grown and traveled across North America.
